UWC NC Refugees from Western Sahara follows a thorough and well-rounded selection process to identify motivated and talented young individuals who align with UWC’s values and mission.
Before starting your application, we suggest you:

1. Outreach
The first step in the selection process is submitting an application. This includes:
- The National Committee will announce the selection through all available social media avenues (Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram).
- Students can apply online or bring all the required documents to the first stage of the selections.
- We will verify any and all the required credentials to be eligible for joining the second stage.
2. Assessment
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a multi-step selection process, which typically includes:
- A written application form, written essays in English, Arabic and Spanish.
- Participation in group exercises.
- A personal interview. The interviews take place over the course of one or two days in Rabouni.
3. Nomination
After selections, the National Committee nominates the most promising candidates for placement at UWC schools and colleges. Successful applicants will:
- Be invited to a meeting the following day, along with their parents. During this meeting, the nominated students and their parents are given ample information about UWC and what happens next, and the necessary paper work is taken care of.
- Nominations are sent to the UWC schools for approval.
